We are using alongside our daily number.
Write it: model writing the number with the correct formation
Show me: find the correct amount of objects and blu-tack them on
Tally: represent the number as a tally
Partition it: Partition the number e.g. 5 can be 4 + 1, 3 + 2…
Make it: What can you add to make the number, what can you subtract to make the number
Ten frame: Either colour in or stick coloured counters on to represent the number
Challenge: Could be to represent as a part/part whole. Could be to identify tens and ones. Could be a word problem using that number. Etc…
I have created a play dough recipe book. The idea is that you can print, laminate and cut to create an A5 booklet on a keyring.
All recipes can be made independently by children as measurements are in cups and all ingredients are recorded in a pictorial form.
I’ve started to make labels for my classroom. Please download and use within your classroom if you feel that they will be useful. The font that I have used is a letter-join font. You may need to change it if you do not follow this scheme.
