One hour - two hour, fully resourced lesson (PowerPoint, worksheets, clip tasks, activities, all differentiated three ways) which introduces the concept of identity and allows students to explore and celebrate their own. It focuses on the idea that diversity is something which should be celebrated and spoken about with pride. Part of the lesson sees the students creating their own ‘Identity Cubes’ which can be used as a display piece. Perfect for actively demonstrating SMSC. The lesson is adaptable, easy to follow and fully differentiated. It could be used by a KS3 or KS4 Citizenship, PSHE or Tutor group. This resource pack includes an hour long PowerPoint with accompanying worksheets, templates, well differentiated activities, literacy focus tasks, clip tasks with three-way differentiated questions and information sheets. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. As with all our lessons, you don’t need any prior knowledge as all the information is included - you can just pick up and teach it. 2 hour lesson suitable for KS2 or lower KS3 which serves as an introduction to careers and also allows students to challenge stereotypes and any unconscious prejudices they may hold about which types of jobs best suit certain people. Students will investigate numerous different career paths and assess which suits their skills and abilities best, completing a personal skills and qualities assessment before exploring the different types of opportunities open to them. They will also explore the stereotypes and biases we can inadvertently hold and investigate how we can challenge such misconceptions, through clip tasks, literacy, creative and card sort activities. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is designed to be ‘no prep’, so you can just pick it up and use it, although it is still adaptable should you wish to. Who are EC Resources? A fully-resourced 2 hour PSHE / RSE lesson which serves as an introduction to the difference between sex and gender and explores sexuality, identity, language (correct terms) and gender expression. Students will explore new key terminology before investigating the key components of identity and sexual orientation, why some people still find some of the ideas behind this controversial (such as pronoun use) and then educate other students on a trait they will be working on and presenting in small groups (all information needed is included). This lesson is great to consolidate the PSHE 2020 spiral curriculum (especially for an LGBT+ unit) or for a Citizenship diversity unit. The lesson has been written for KS4 / KS5 (but there is nothing unsuitable for KS3) and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own PSHE planning. The lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, detailed information sheets, differentiated challenge activities and worksheets, clips tasks with questions and a literacy / debate focus task. These resources have been designed to be engaging, detailed and easy to follow. The PowerPoint is in the ZIP file as it is large.
