Adopting the latest technology can be daunting for teams. But machine learning and artificial intelligence are helping make job sites more efficient and saving money in the process. AI solutions that have made an impact in other industries are beginning to emerge in the construction industry.
Robotics, AI, and the Internet of Things can reduce building costs by up to 20%. There are companies that are starting to offer self-driving construction machinery to perform repetitive tasks more efficiently than their human counterparts, such as pouring concrete, bricklaying, welding, and demolition.
Construction companies are starting to use AI and machine learning to better plan for distribution of labour and machinery across jobs.
The Adventure of Carcosa Guardian the AI Construction Anime, explores the beauty of Artificial Intelligent Construction Tool. In course of the story line, Carcosa girl, summons a Magical pen that will ask you to provide a side of the desire 2-D shape to sketch. You can enter any number between 50 and 150, due to the typical dimension configuration attribute in scratch programming; when the side of the Square to sketch is required from the user. Just follow the Mathemagic girl instruction and follow through the game; thereby, navigating through your Geometrical Dream World with the assistance of the Carcosa Guardian the Construction Genie Anime
Constructing / drawing / constructions triangles.
There is Video Animation showing how to construct Triangle for the following conditions:
1) When 3 sides are given.
2) When 2 sides and 1 angle are given.
3) When 1 side and 2 angles are given.
Includes 3 Tasks for students to complete.
Includes a Demonstration TOOL so you can show how to construct or get students to come to the board. The Tool is equipped with Rule, Compass and Protractor, very easy to use.
A bingo game covering the vocabulary that will be used when introducing the Plumbing Materials and Tools to students in an Ag. Construction or Ag. Structures Course. A class set of 40 cards are included with a separate vocabulary list sheet that the words can be cut out of before calling them out. Laminating the cards is a good idea as it makes them reusable and durable and the students can check off their words with a dry erase marker.
Construction -Very easy to use, fantastic Animations to show the Drawing of an Angle, Bisecting a Line or Bisecting an Angle.
Video Animation Shows how to complete:
1. Drawing an Angle
2. Bisecting a Line.
3. Bisecting an Angle.
There is 4 Tasks for students to complete.
There is a Demonstration TOOL for you to demo or for Students to come to the board and try, very easy to use.
This is perfect if you do not have compasses or you got that manic class that you do not any where near compasses.
Great for quick fire revision or demonstration. YOU WILL LOVE THE TOOL.
Math Maths or Mathematics
The ALL Grrrrreat Construction Bundle.
Great for whole lesson or quick fire revision.
This contains amazing graphical tools and video animations to make life easy for teaching of these topics. Also allows students to understand quicker.
Demonstration on how to draw an Angle of 60/90 Degrees.
Demonstration of how to Bisect an Angle.
Demonstration of how to Bisect a Line.
Demonstration of how to draw a triangle.
Worksheets / tasks included.
WJEC Construction breakdown of each Unit of the specification.
This is all the information and content needed for Units: 1, 2 & 3. The spreadsheet outlines all areas that need to be covered for the internal assessed content and the exam.
This is a great resource when used a RAG system with the exam content, it can also be used to assess each area and use as a marking tool.
Includes:
1) Demonstration TOOL fully equipped with Ruler, Compass and Protractor, very easy to use.
2) Tasks on Drawing Angle of 60 and 90 Degrees.
3) Tasks on Bisecting a Line.
4) Tasks on Bisecting an Angle.
4) Tasks on Constructing Various Triangles.
Great for quick fire revision or whole lesson.
Made this for my Year 8s so they could complete the constructions as we went through each one, then stuck it in their books for future reference. Includes step-by-step guides to each construction.
Covers perpendicular bisector, angle bisector, perpendicular from a point on a line, perpendicular to a point from a line, and construction of 30, 45, and 60 degree angles.
Really handy revision tool for them.
Over 22 pages related to hand tools/ in the DT workshop environment.
Each page contains a different tool, description and image.
This resource is fully customisable and can be used as a teaching and learning resource and or a display.
Compatible with BTEC Construction. Specifically module 1 ‘Producing a timber product’ , criteria 1.1.
To support literacy across the curriculum and obviously Science in particular here, these sentence construction frames are extremely useful in a number of different contexts. Students find this quite a challenge but do engage with this in an extremely positive manner. A good opportunity for collaborative work.
They can be edited for differentiation purposes, with significant challenge for the most able and also access for the weakest/SEND.
They have been used very successfully as starters, plenaries, end of topic summaries, revision tools, homework and also extensions and they can be adapted for any topic across the entire curriculum from Yr7 to Yr13.
I have attached a number of examples with associated powerpoints to have up on the board as the students attempt the task, including.....
Limestone
Hydrocarbons, Fractional Distillation and Cracking
Radiation
Respiratory and Circulatory System
The Atom, Reacting Masses and Rates of Reaction
Transformers and Power
The materials used for civil engineering structures have changed over time. Early structures were constructed of stone and wood. These materials were in ready supply and could be cut and shaped with available tools. Later, cast iron was used, because mills were capable of crudely refining iron ore. As the industrial revolution took hold, quality steel could be produced in the quantities required for large structures.
In addition, portland cement, developed in the mid-1800s, provided civil engineers with a durable inexpensive material with broad applications.
I have created a large selection of photographs to support construction in my Early Years classroom.
The photograph shows what resrouces are needed to produce a model. The resources include:
Lego
Peg Boards
2D and 3D Shapes
Multilink cubes
Crazy creatures
These have been a valuble resource to support the progression of ideas.
Construction Challenge Cards
Made using duplo and wooden bricks.
i.e. Can you make a dinosaur? Can you make a castle? Can you make a repeating pattern?
A major advantage of constructive play is that it allows children to develop creativity. When experimenting with different materials and discovering new uses, possibilities become endless and lateral thinking is encouraged.
Books are a rich starting point for learning in an early years setting. They provide an exciting way into worlds children could not otherwise visit. A well chosen book can be an excellent catalyst for all sorts of learning experiences. This resource includes enhancement ideas for the theme of ‘Around the world’ (Comparisons of cultures and environments) utilising the following texts -
One snowy night
The jolly postman
Chinese zodiac
Handa’s surprise
Polar bear and the snow cloud
Easter story
A major strand of science and technology studies in recent decades has related to the social construction of technology (SCOT) movement, whose adherents maintain that technological systems are determined just as much by social forces as by technological ones. Taking this SCOT notion as a starting point, and putting a focus on the user, this paper looks at some examples of the educational use of software tools that exploit the functionality of the software in ways far removed from the original design.
Three worksheets: students to identify tools used in the construction of electronic circuits and state their purpose. The worksheets include the following tools:
Soldering iron
Soldering iron stand
Side cutters
Long-nosed pliers
Pliers
Cross-head screwdriver
Flat head screwdriver
Desoldering pump
Crimp tool
Precision screwdrivers
Solder
Desoldering braid
Safety glasses
