This telling the time puzzle is a fun way to test students ability to tell the time. Students match the image of an analogue clock, the time in words, digital and 24-hour time. Included are variations of the follwing times: o’clock, half past, quarter past and to, 10 minute intervals and minute intervals. It is designed to be easily cut with little wastage. So either the teacher or tutor can prepare the cards by cutting them before hand, or students can cut their own cards, giving them a chance to see the solutions before they attempt the puzzle. Although this product is made in colour, it prints perfectly well in black and white. Available as part of Matching Activity Bundle One. Numicon Shape Matching Pictures

(0)
A selection of 5 images designed for actual size Numicon pieces. Children match Numicon pieces to the pictures (A4 size) or experiment further with numbers by choosing alternative combinations of filling in each picture. An optional recording sheet is also included within the download to encourage pupils to record which shapes they used and to add them together to find the total. These are great for differentiated learning - LA pupils can focus on matching shapes while HA pupils can extend to number bonds and addition. The students in my Reception class loved these sheets and would often choose to write down the numeral next to each shape that they used on the original picture sheet, and then count all holes to find the total, recording in whichever way they chose. There are lots of possibilities to explore and secure number sense.

Matching animals to their habitat - KS1/KS2

(1)
This lesson is part of a wider cross-curricula unit called London Zoo which is designed for KS1 and lower KS2 students (Y2-4). The animals have escaped at the zoo and the keeper needs your help! The presentation first encourages students to describe the features of animals. It then challenges students to match animals to their names, description and habitat. It includes a variety of animals including fish, birds, mammals, insects and amphibians. There is a group activity and an individual activity: Group Activity: Students match animals to their names, description and habitat (KS1 and KS2 versions). Individual Activity: Students match animals to their names, description and habitat on a worksheet. This is differentiated three ways: Easier – Students match animals to their habitats. Medium – Students match animals to their description and habitat. Harder – Students fill in the names of the animals and match them to their description and habitat. Extension – Students classify animals as fish, birds, mammals, insects or amphibians. If you like this resource, we would appreciate a review! Primary or Secondary? Match the source

(1)
A simple started activity - students learn the basics of Primary and Secondary sources by matching some images to the definition. This was made for low ability, SEN students, so uses visual and simple explanations. It could make a quick fire activity for more able students. Students can draw lines to connect or cut out and paste in their exercise books. As an extension, they can think of other examples. This uses a couple images of Queen Victoria for example purposes.
