A 2-sided, attractively presented, fun worksheet for tutor time students to guess the logos and brands. Part 1 has 45 fairly well-known logos that the students have to guess and Part 2 has the alphabet created with the first letter from famous UK, American and international brands for the students to guess. I gave a time limit of 20 minutes for this activity with my form group and it worked quite well. Answers for both sides included!

This 20 slide PowerPoint presentation can be used for an assembly, for form time, tutor time or PSHE on the first day or week of school. The aim is to help students to consider how lucky they are to have an education and to be inspired to set themselves goals and targets for the academic year. It is full of colourful pictures and animations to hopefully grab the attention of the sleepiest of students! It can be simply shown with very little commentary or can be used for detailed discussion as you wish. The first slide says Welcome to Year *! (you need to fill in the year group!) The second slide asks How were you feeling this morning? And gives various options: Sleepy, sad, scared, lucky, inspired, happy, fed up, grumpy, excited, nervous, positive. Or maybe something else? This can be used as an opportunity for pair, group or class discussion. Slide 3 says: Here are some other classes starting the school year around the world…. Slide 13 asks: Will you do something extraordinary this year? What goals will you aim for? Slide 14 – 17 give suggestions e.g Maybe a physical challenge? Make the football team, Run 5K, Learn a new sport, Start training for Tokyo 2020! Beat my swimming PB & Exercise every day. The other challenges are Creative, Academic and Something Else e.g. volunteer, raise money for charity… Slide 18 says Picture yourself achieving your goal. How does it make you feel? History, Science and a number of other curriculum areas. The presentation contains 40 challenges which all follow the same format. The students are presented with 3 names/terms which are obscured and, at the teachers action by clicking on the numbered ellipses in sequence. the letters are revealed one by one. The students are tasked with identify the 3 terms as Nations, Animals, Planets, Rivers, Sports, Cities etc and name the common factor with an element of competition as students attempt to be first to decode the answer.
