This activity links numbers and rhymes for KS1. 2 number nonsense rhymes with numbers 1 to 10. Children read the rhymes, count the objects and match to the number words and then colour the pictures. There is also a template for children to make up their own nonsense rhymes.

This lesson encourages counting on and uses the story/rhyme 5 little ducks as a basis for counting.
