A fun scavenger hunt for young children and / or SEND pupils using symbols.
There is a black and white and colour version of the scavenger recording sheet. Children can tick off the things they find. There are 10 things to find.
There is a page of simple riddles that go with each picture and provide clues. You can choose to use these or not depending on your children and their abilities.
Use real objects if available for your scavenger hunt, or soft toys e.g squirrel and snowman.
Alternatively, or as well as, cut out the large flashcards, laminate and tie/tape these up around the outside area for children to find.
Finish with the hot chocolate and then you may want to reward your class with the real thing as a treat for finding everything on the scavenger list.
This is a fun activity for young children.
Cut out and laminate the 30 circular cards showing Christmas pictures and hide inside the classroom or in nature’s den / outside areas or in a sand tray.
Children can hunt for the pictures and then tick off on the master board when they find them! Children will enjoy working in pairs or small groups.

This resource consists of two worksheets, each focusing on Shopping.
The first worksheet covers numbers 1 to 5, the second covers numbers 6 to 10.
Sheet 3 is a blank template that can be used in a variety of ways.
Each worksheet includes five pictures related to shopping such as wallets, bags and credit cards. Children count and colour the pictures and cut them out.
There are matching number cards for each picture. Children can write the corresponding number, trace the numeral, and then match these cards to the pictures on the worksheets.
There are also cards displaying the shopping words such as piggy banks and cashier. Children can practice their writing skills, cut out the words, and match them to the appropriate pictures.
