A straightforward worksheet using questions I found elsewhere, but put together with a clear example at the top to give students something to refer to. This is a worksheet for students to fill in the different representations of mixed numbers and improper fractions. I find many students really struggle to understand what an improper fraction really means and particularly to show it on a number line. The powerpoint just has a breakdown of the example intended to go through as a class first to explain and discuss. Hopefully you may find it useful, please leave any comments or suggestions below. I have attached a word document so that you can edit the problems, however it was originally created in Pages so the compatibility may not be amazing.

The link on the first page is a short video showing how bearings are useful in a real life application. For task 3 I give students a tube map (the small leaflet style that you can pick up in tube stations) - this saves on colour photocopying if you can get a bundle at once! A treasure hunt task for A Level students to revise a number of key Pure topics from their Year 1 course. Includes: factors & remainder theorem, co-ordinate geometry, quadratics, graphs & functions, inequalities, binomial expansion, surds, and plenty of problem solving! There are 2 cards on each page so just need cutting down the middle when printed. It took my students about 40 minutes to complete and brought up some great discussions their pairs. An angles in parallel lines task for students to practise selecting which rule they can spot after learning about alternate, corresponding & co-interior angles. Emphasis on identifying the rule rather than working out the size of angles. There is a second extension task where multiple rules need to be identified to connect the two marked angles.
