I have produced 11 exam questions/extracts for the AQA Literature spec for 2018. A 12 week scheme of work on Zusak’s best selling novel. Lessons involve reading and closely linked writing tasks that focus on the analysis and then application of writer’s style. A challenging unit for top set students at KS3 but could be easily differentiated.

A few exam questions on the new unseen section of the AQA exam for literature (9-1 spec). Questions could be altered for other exam board expectations. The rolling powerpoint outlines the exam methods used and prompts as well as activities.

A bundle of lesson plans and ideas on 19th century literature for KS3. This works as an introduction before the new 19th century novel in KS4. There is a powerpoint with lessons included and then plenty of extracts, handouts and activities on a few well known 19th century texts. i.e. Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, Oliver Twist

A collection of resources for the AQA GCSE spec for 9-1 literature GCSE. This includes extracts, activities, a rolling PPT, key lesson plans, chapter extracts, model responses, classroom activities, ideas on key themes and a knowledge organiser.

A 38 question quiz which assesses students' understanding of the basic plot of the novel. Some questions are multi choice and some are extended but all are easy for students and a great way of assessing if students have read the novel.

A series of resources and activities supported with model answers and also a rolling powerpoint which is used as lesson plans.

These resources give students studying AQA lit GCSE 9-1 the key contextual factors surrounding the novel of 'Great Expectations'. There are activities as well as research documents and a long powerpoint.

A full unit of work on the theme of adventure. This unit focuses on various reading and writing activities with a variety of writing stlyes explored: novel openings, fiction and creative pieces, article writing, travel writing. The extracts include some GCSE content as well as fiction extracts from Alice in Wonderland, Life of Pi, The Lie Tree and more. All activities are fulling planning with top set, very able students in mind.

There are three documents: one is the plot in order for the teacher, one is a muddled up grid of the plot with letters so students can cut up the sheets and reorganise themselves without the need for precutting before the lesson, and there is a documet with the letter order on for teachers use.

A detailed poetry booklet which outlines: key vocabulary and subject specific terms related to poetry; summaries of the poems plus connections they can make for the exam, exam questions and general support and guidance.

Students need to cut out the strips and place them into an order. This is usually supported with an animated clip from YouTube. Answers are in order on the second document.

A powerpoint of classroom activities and methods used in descriptive writing. This has been used with a Year 7 top set and a middle year 9 so a bit of adapting and it works for most groups. Heaps of model, extracts and different creative writing stimulus as well as tasks on sentence variety, reflection and improvement, and building up vivid imagery.

A series of lessons for a high ability Year 7 class on Lord of the Flies.

Two different Year 6 induction lessons to be used in secondary school when Year 6 visit. One lesson on Count Olaf and the presentation and characterisation in the film. One lesson on 'The Invisible Man' and a writing task, using Count Olaf as a stimuli.

A bundle of resources and lesson ideas with model paragraphs, extracts and activities. This was created for two year 9 classes, both top sets but would work with lower if slightly adapted. The rolling powerpoint includes all of the lessons and ideas with models and explicit modelling of inference. Please review my work.

Some handmade literature GCSE questions for the new AQA 9-1 spec for ‘Macbeth’, ‘Great Expectations’, ‘An Inspector Calls’ and the poetry exam.

A collection of extensive quizzes on 'Great Expectations' on every chapter. These consist of multiple choice and extended responses and are focused on the understanding and knowledge of plot as well as the basic comprehension skills needed. This is for AQA Lit GCSE 9-1 specification.

A detailed unit of work with a particular focus on application of themes and knowledge to wider texts and social contexts in relation to ‘Of Mice and Men’. This scheme is designed for a very able top set and focuses on linking the novel to current affairs and theory regarding the novel. There is a large section of the work based on analysing the relationship between George and Lennie in detail whilst also evaluating the impact their friendship has on their individual and joint success. Curley’s wife is explored at length.

Activities and lessons on the introductory unit to Shakespeare. This has been used with middle to high ability Year 7 students and focuses on love in Romeo and Juliet as an introduction as students usually know this play and then branches out to Twelfth Night. High ability would compare two scenes as seen in the powerpoint display. This pack includes activities, key scenes and lesson plans.

A huge array of resources on the new GCSE 9-1 Specification for AQA Literature for the anthology question.
