HMRC Tax Facts: ages 14 to 17
Tax Facts is an interactive lesson designed to help young people understand the tax system and the role tax plays when in employment.
The lesson has been created for students aged 14 to 17 to support them as they start to prepare for the world of employment, including any part time or holiday work from the age of 16.
They will learn all about the tax system, different kinds of taxes and the implications of not paying tax. They will also learn how tax is collected when starting your own business or through PAYE with an employer.
The Tax Facts lesson plan includes guidance on how to use the videos alongside the activities. The lesson objectives support various aspects of the curriculum related to planning for future life and work and being responsible citizens.
