A long lesson that can be split into two or three lessons. It covers how to strucutre responses to the creative writing task, based on the AQA mark scheme. Students are also given access to George Orwell’s “A Hanging” for inspiration and to examine the techniques in their own writing. The lesson is accompanied with a work book and a copy of the Orwell text.

Suggested "Script" and Structure for AQA A Level History

This is an excel spreadsheet that breaks down the different elements of both the AQA A Level Source Question, as well as offering a writing frame for the essay questions. Both sections have suggested sentence starters and tips on structure. This resource is easily adaptable to other modules; this example is based on the Russia module. Although the mark suggestions are not from AQA I found it useful to help students breakdown the question and see where their marks are going.
