Included are a range of worksheets to support the teaching of Goodnight Mr Tom (chapter 1). The first set of sheets cover sequencing six events in chapter 1 which can be enlarged and cut up in order to be sorted by the children. There are also a number of sheets which tackle the emotions of Willie as the events of chapter unfold. These should be used to plan the structure of a diary entry, written by Willie, about his first day living with Tom. The sheets are differentiated and made to look interesting and should cover three lessons: sequencing of chapter 1 the emotions of a character during different events using descriptive language to add detail (simile and metaphor)

Included are five differentiated sheets which allow children to compare digital and analogue time.

This resource has 6 questions which all relate to fraction equivalence and is in line with the new year 6 curriculum. Children will be expected to answer the questions by using their reasoning and problem solving skills.

A three way differentiated resource which uses the speech of The Grand High Witch. The children have to add in the correct punctuation to the speech sentences with each sheet having an extension. The HA task includes the task of writing split speech with an adverbial phrase at the end. e.g “How dare you!” she cried with her hands on her hips, " I will get you for this."

Loop 1: The document contains loop cards (in ppt) which need to be cut out and made into a pack. Each card has a word on it which begins with one of the prefixes studied in year 5. The other side of the card holds a definition. Children have to find the correct definition for their word and turn all the cards into a giant closed loop. Loop 2: This set of loop cards contains many of the silent letter words studied in year five. It mainly contains words with a silent h, w, g, and b. Loop 3: Shape vocabulary. It can also be used as a starter whereby each child has one card. The first child reads the definition on their card and the child that has the corresponding word reads it out. That same child then reads the definition on their card which will start a loop in which each child gets to answer one question and read one definition.
