Part 1. Critically reflect on your development as a teacher so far, with specific reference to behaviour approaches and creating an inclusive learning environment. Part 2. Drawing on your developing philosophy of teaching and learning and appropriate theoretical models and research, produce an action plan for your future professional development, taking into account how to support progress for all children. Harvard referencing at the end of the document. PLEASE NOTE: This PGCE Professional development assignment is an example and to be used as guidance only. It must not be copied or you will be guilty of plagiarism. This is my PGCE Assignment 2 from my Primary PGCE, submitted in 2021. Please do not copy but simply use as a guide for writing your own. I know it can be difficult to find examples of PGCE assignments, which is why I am sharing. Sample: Introduction This assignment will critique the developments I have made as a teacher so far, from starting the PGCE course to date, having completed my first school placement. As a trainee teacher it is important to continually reflect on development in order to recognise areas of strengths and weaknesses. I found the workload on my first placement intense and it was easy to get distracted by my weekly ‘to do’ list and not take the time to recognise the developments I was making. However, I soon recognised that reflecting on my development and making sense of the experience was beneficial to improving as a teacher. This assignment will focus on the three areas of self-development I recognised during my teaching experience: behaviour management, inclusion and teacher identity. I will be using Gibb’s (1988) Reflective Cycle to reflect on my development as a teacher so far. Gibb’s (1988) model encourages reflecting on individual experiences after they occur, creating an understanding and learning from these events to develop an action plan for future experiences (Paige, Lambert & Geeson, 2020).
