History leader action plan to be used as a guide.

Ages 6-9. Text, questions and answers relating to my self-penned story, ‘Dad’s Chair’, the text is about 750 words in length and the questions are mainly retrieval question and are geared towards a Year 2/3 audience. In short, the story is about a brother and sister attempting to wake up their dad who is snoring on the best chair in the house which they both want to sit on; they try a few different things but it is something completely unexpected that wakes their father from his rather noisy slumber.

A one week unit for a Year 2 class based on the poem ‘My Shadow’ by Robert Louis Stevenson. The aim of this unit is to enable the children to perform part of or all of the poem. The planning looks at the rhyme in the poem, its vocabulary before thinking about adding actions and drawings to assist in remembering the words.
