Class APP Grids

(52)
These class grids include all objectives from APP (including small red comments triangle that reveals the other examples shown on paper versions) When the child is showing evidence, write 'o' for ' on the way' and it will automatically turn yellow, then 'a' for 'achieved' when they have got it when it will turn green! We are finding them most useful for identifying gaps and saving on lots of paper work too! Please leave feedback- hope you like them!

KS2 SATs Treasure Trail

(40)
This is a fun, team activity, designed to revise some key areas within English and Maths SATs curriculum whilst running around! The clues should be hidden around the school grounds. The children find the various clues and then work together to fill in answers in provided answer sheet. The letters in the title (in red) spell an anagram at the very end too- which is 'Metaphor&'. Revision with a bit of physical activity and fun! Hope you find it useful- let me know!

This Powerpoint contains lots of well known proverbs with illustrations to discuss with your class. Just really nice for one of those philosophical lessons which we just don't do enough of! Enjoy...

2014 National Curriculum Assessment Tracker

(20)
I have designed this tracking tool to monitor and analyse progress in Reading, Writing and Mathematics. The pupil is assessed according to 4 criteria each term (Emerging, Developing, Secure and Exceeding) using the code E/D/S/X. Using code, the colour will change automatically. Final sheet will provide analysis, breaking down into percentages. Life without levels is visual, clear and the way ahead! See what you think!

Punctuation Pyramid Display

(3)
The various pages create a large punctuation pyramid that can be displayed on the wall. Each level is colour coded and the title contains individual letters than can be laminated, cut out and arranged. An excellent reference point to be displayed for pupils to use across the curriculum.

PIVATS tracking tool

(2)
I have designed this electronic tracking tools for use in mainstream primary schools. As a school, we felt it necessary to break down progress into smaller steps rather than just state that a pupil was not meeting age related expectations. The grid contains different sheets to assess the different areas. Maths only includes ‘number’ as this was our main priority as a school. There is also a sheet for speaking and listening. The idea is that you assess where the pupil is currently working at for eg P6 and then complete a baseline assessment (BL) using the point score of 0 (no evidence), 1 (some evidence), 2 (a good amount of evidence) and 3 (achieved). Formulae will automatically produce a score for you. Then as you re-assess for each term, the formulae will automatically track progress and traffic light at the same time. Once a pupil is ‘green’ on the particular PIVATs level, they are ready to move to the next one. The fact that all of the levels are together on one sheet is helpful from an overview point of view. Hopefully this will all make sense! If not, feel free to contact me. This took many hours to create and am happy to share in the light of how useful it has been to us as a school. It is excellent for use within review meetings and to share with parents- plus to decide on targets for EHCPs etc.

A 'Real Life'Natural Disaster

(3)
This is a mini-project that we linked to our 'Natural Disaster's' topic. The children arranged themselves into groups and then worked together, planning and completing the various cross curricular tasks. They had to imagine that they were working as a team, rebuilding a community, after a real-life natural disaster. They loved it and at the end of the week, presented their ideas to the 'Dragon's Den' made up of the teachers, dressed formally- to give their pitch. Let me know what you think! Enjoy.

Everyone has a talent- what is yours? A worksheet to get the children thinking about what their special skill/talent is and what they have achieved so far.

Behaviour Charts

(2)
These charts are great for targetting behaviour/motivation and support the traffic light assessing. The pupil takes responsibility for keeping the chart and handing it in at the start of each lesson. They really like the one-to-one contact and acknowledgement of their efforts. Can be really positive.

Primary School Performance Tracker

(1)
This clever resource tracks the learning journey of each pupil from Year 1 through to Year 6. A summative assessment needs to be inputted at the end of each academic year (in Average Point Score). This is entered on sheet 1. The tracker cleverly works out the rest such as sub-levels, progress etc and even predicts SATs results by working out average progress across the years. It's been spot on for my last three years of SATs. PDF included to show a populated tracker, then a generic one to be adapted to your school.

Music Assessment Grid

(1)
This assessment grid is designed in the style of APP, where the various levels are changed to 'I can' statements. It is helpful to see where the children are at and where they need to go next. The spaces are set up for names to be typed in. A time saver, but great for reference for reports/parent's evenings etc.

If I was...

A thought provoking activity to encourage the children to reflect on themselves and identify their unique qualities. They are required to think of themselves as an animal, type of weather etc and give reasons why. I use it as a lovely transition activity. Enjoy! ;-)
