This resource supports understanding of plague in the past by developing knowledge of plague today. It adds a modern-day, scientific context and is designed to be used when teaching about the Black Death, the Great Plague or medieval medicine. It can be used at KS3 or KS4, depending on learners’ prior knowledge and/or level of detail required.

The resource has been created by Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) using our authentic materials. Teachers are encouraged to review and select content and activities to best match their learners’ needs.
