19th Century Context Warm-Up Activities

This ppt. contains a range of quizzes and small, warm-up tasks to help GCSE English Language Paper 2 students in their study of the Victorian Era as Source B’s contexts can be quite difficult for many to grasp if they haven’t covered this Era in “History/Humanities” class.

This is a resource for older students as it covers racism/racist themes, unethical practices (in context) and similar materials which may be too mature for anyone under 14.

For the more hard-hitting activities (the final Taboo Quiz), I have added a range of suggested discussion points that you might wish to use.

This could also be used by GCSE History Teachers; all websites used for information have been cited.
