The guide was keen to show us the white lady spider. We followed him into the dune field area in the early morning. He extracted a long stalk of dry grass and inspected a dune slope. He noticed a small hole in the side of the dune and begin some careful digging above the hole. After a while a white shape emerged from the dune. It was a white lady spider and it was not pleased. It rolled itself into a ball and cartwheeled down to the base of the dune. It then raised itself onto its legs and established a defensive pose. The guide went nearer and the spider attached itself to the side of his left boot. We stepped back a little. The guide explained that it was safe as long as the spider did not bite. By photos and descriptions join this encounter and find out how this spider adapts to the sandy desert conditions.
