A selection of slides showing multicultural Britain

An activity for those working in less diverse schools to broaden children's awareness of how multicultural Britain is. I ask the children which country the photos are from to assess their pre-conceived ideas. All photos are from Britain, which comes as a surprise to some of them. I then use this as a prompt to discuss what it means to be British and how British people can come from many different religious or ethnic backgrounds. Then there is a link to Benjamin Zephaniah's poem 'The British'
