Animals - a poster (idea, example and criteria)

This Rare / Endangered Animal Poster Project is designed to help students research an animal and present information about it in a clear, creative and structured way.

Students practise:

researching and organising information about an animal
identifying and describing the animal’s habitat and food
finding and presenting interesting facts
identifying at least 5 animal body parts and explaining their purpose
explaining why the animal is rare/endangered and what threatens it
using English vocabulary and complete sentences
applying correct spelling and grammar
organising information into clear sections
working collaboratively with a partner
presenting their poster and answering questions

The project includes a model poster to show students what their final product can look like, as well as a detailed assessment criteria sheet covering animal information, body parts, endangered status, English and vocabulary, design and creativity, teamwork, and presentation.

It is suitable for pair work and can be used as a classroom project, research activity, speaking task, or assessment. Students are encouraged to share the work equally and both participate in the final presentation.
