AQA English Language GCSE Article Writing Exemplars Levels 6-9

A collection of 4 writing essays based on the AQA English Language GCSE Writing Task on an article about what makes a great school trip.

You will receive:
4 essays: one for each level 6-9.
A student-friendly A5 mark scheme for students to use to critique the essays.

This could be a cover lesson or a reflection on writing. The trick is that on the surface level all the essays appear to be about the same length, with 5 paragraphs. This activity challenges students to look a little deeper to consider the depth of idea, the sophistication of vocabulary, the deliberate effect of punctuation, and the quality of the writing.

For an extra challenge, edit the headers to remove the levels so the students can judge them for themselves!
