Simple practical to compare the two types of respiration by counting exercises done with and without rests. Was created for and used with my bottom set year 10 but could be used with KS3.
For the activity, students carry out an exercise (e.g. lifting weights, star jumps) for 3 sets of 20s (with a rest in between), counting how many they can do in the time. They then repeat for 1 minute without a rest and count how many they do. They should see they do fewer when they don’t have a rest, due to anaerobic respiration.

Credit to my head of department for the layout!

Thank you for sharing. I am going to use this with my nurture group. Would be great to have a set of instructions on how to carry out the activity
