SOW for the new AQA Poetry exam exploring power and conflict poems. <br />
The first section of the SOW deals with the unseen portion of the exam and valuable poetry skills needed to explore the anthology. There is an emphasis on exposing students to as much poetry as possible in order to improve their ability to read and understand the form. <br />
There are also suggestions for HL tasks. <br />
One worksheet that works for fiction/non-fiction. It shows students the 'steps' in analysing language in a clear way. It moves from literal meaning to connotations and ends with the impact on the reader/audience. A clear framework which can be used to scaffold/support students at various stages of their learning. Drama Extension Activities PowerPoint. Includes five extension menu choice boards for differentiating instruction for any drama unit. These were developed originally to be used with the plays "A Christmas Carol" and "The Diary of Anne Frank," but can be used with any play or dramatization. There are extension menus or enrichment activities for author, time period, play comprehension, drama terms and an independent study guide and a menu of reading project ideas for multiple intelligences-auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Also included is an oral presentation rubric and a peer evaluation form. Useful for gifted students who need extra independent work. A series of lessons covering Shakespeare's Othello. Originally covered with a Year 9 group but can be differentiated accordingly and would work with A Level Students. The resource includes PowerPoint slides, resources and assessment questions.

The essay plan follows a cloze activity format but allows pupils to select their own evidence and to analyse language. Excellent for KS3 classes.
