Lesson is ready to go with minimal preparation time required.

Students explore the meaning of consent and start to learn how to apply this in relationships. Session covers that s* x without consent is s* xual assault. They discuss the importance of consent in a healthy s* xual relationship.

Session involves a 15min interactive video and then follow on material to deepen understanding, complete further tasks and discuss key learning. Full teacher notes are included. Can be used in a 50-70min lesson slot.

This is lesson 1 of a 4 part series for Yr9 or 10 called ‘I wish’. I Wish explores the reasons why teenagers might choose to have s* x and what they might need to consider before making that choice, including consent, unplanned pregnancy, STI’s and the
emotional aspects of that choice. It educates students on how to keep themselves safe from the risks of teen s* x, including information on contraception, condom use and STI testing. It
examines the benefits of delaying s* x until a long term committed relationship.
