In this activity, students will learn how archaeologists determine the age of artefacts by using relative dating methods such as stratigraphy and typology to place objects in order from older to younger. Students also learn how absolute dating methods such as radiocarbon dating, dendrochronology, and thermoluminescence provide specific age estimates by measuring physical or chemical features within artefacts.
It has 10 questions for students to answer, as well as a paragraph response section for them to demonstrate their understanding of the topic.
