Two fun, colourful educational comics created by pupils for pupils, based on the Language in Parliament workshops run by the Scottish Parliament education service twice a year.

The comics look at the importance of language in the Scottish Parliament: MSPs and speech-writing skills; how the Official Report turns the spoken work into a permanent record of business; the care required in drafting legislation; and the importance of accuracy and objectivity in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre’s research briefings and blogs.

There is an accompanying resource with activities, worksheets and guidance in each area covered by the comic, and two supporting PowerPoints on puctuation and speeches.

The comics are available in English and Gaelic.

For teachers, there is a panel by panel powerpoint version of the comic.

There is also a large print PDF version with alt-text suitable for pupils with visual impairments or who use screen readers.
