This was used with Year 8 but could be used with KS4 and KS5 - especially useful for teaching the Gothic genre. Students read extracts from several 18th/19th and 20th Century novels/poems/short stories to identify Gothic Characters.
Table included on these archetypes: Damsel in distress, Dark villain, femme fatale, Byronic Hero, Unreliable Narrator, and the Other (doppelganger, monster, demon, etc.).
Pre-teaching of these archetypes would be needed.
