At the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, we believe education is at the heart of creating lasting change. After Sophie Lancaster was brutally attacked and killed for the way she looked, her mother Sylvia dedicated herself to challenging prejudice and intolerance through education.

Our resources and workshops inspire empathy and understanding, helping young people see beyond appearance and build stronger, more inclusive communities.

This free lesson on introduces hate crime by looking at stereotyping and prejudice and provides a full PowerPoint lesson exploring:

  • What are stereotypes?
  • How can stereotyping affect the way we see ourselves and others?
  • Why is it important to challenge unfair assumptions?

Through a range of interactive activities and discussion tasks, the session is ideal for encouraging empathy, respect and a culture of kindness.
