This resource, inspired by the film Inside Out, offers a creative and engaging approach to helping children understand and manage their emotions. The planning is practical, interactive, and designed to be both fun and meaningful. It encourages students to explore their feelings through a range of activities, such as creating their own emotions, role-playing, group discussions and designing and creating their own island of personality. Used successfully with Year 5 and 6 students during the COVID-19 pandemic, it provided a valuable way for children to express themselves and connect with others during a difficult time. The flexible nature of the resource makes it suitable for use across Key Stage 2, supporting children in developing emotional resilience, empathy, and self-awareness.
