I did these Titanic timelines on A3 paper with my Year 3's and they looked fabulous. We used the A3 versions for a display and then shrunk them to put them in books.

I got the Titanic timeline events here:
http://activities.tpet.co.uk/?topic=Titanic#/Topic/titanic

Then I chose 8 events I thought were important and created an A3 simple version of events for them to use and put one on each table (photo included). I kept the extra cards as some students managed to fit up to 10 events on their timeline.

I gave each table lots of shapes that they could use if they wanted (some preferred to draw their shapes). And I also put blank clock faces on each table and challenged them to use some of these as well.

The children really enjoyed making these and they looked great in the end. It ended up taking two lessons to complete (about 2 hours).

Included are:
Lesson Plan
Powerpoint
Timeline Cards
Example Timeline for chn. to use
Iceberg and Ship shapes
Blank Clock Faces
Example of finished work

OMG! Just what I was looking for. Structured enough for the Lowers yet challenging enough to bring out the creativity in the Highers in my class. Thank you!
