A fully-resourced, detailed and differentiated 1 hour - 90 min lesson which investigates the concept of cultural appropriation and why it can be offensive. Students will explore recent instances in the media of celebrities who have been accused of cultural appropriation and the origin of the term as well as its links to the concept of privilege.
This lesson is great for PSHE (investigating bigoted behaviour) or for Citizenship, or even as an interesting one off for RE. The lesson is most suitable or KS4 / KS5 (but there is nothing unsuitable for KS3) and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own planning.
The lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, information sheets, differentiated activity worksheets, differentiated challenge activities and clips tasks with questions and a literacy / debate focus task. These resources have been designed to be engaging, detailed and easy to follow.
The PowerPoint is in the ZIP file as it is large. The images have been uploaded to show a few examples of the slides in the lesson :)
