Mental Health for young people. - This unit contains 2 PowerPoints that approach unhelpful thinking habits and suggest ways to adopt helpful thinking habits, There are 2 posters ideally printed at A3 size for classroom teaching and also links to 26 short videos. The ideas in these resources work very well with pupils in KS3 and KS4. The overall aim is to help young people to recognise that the thinking habits they often have are often also common to other young people. It helps them to start an internal dialouge about their own thinking. The lessons/presentations use ideas taken from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and a number of different approaches to mental wellbeing. The presentations are designed for the non-specialist to deliver and contain links to specially commisioned videos which support teaching. These resources are also useful for one-to-one work. There is also a skeleton Scheme of Work. www.thinkingcards.org

The Thinking Cards are so good that our Hospital and Home Teaching Service paid for them! They are such a great visual tool to explore both positive and negative aspects of mental health and the accompanying videos are very accessible. Thank you.
