Model Text: Narrative: Mission Excindo

A Star Wars inspired sci-fi narrative for KS2 students to read, analyse and use as a model for their own writing.

Mission Excindo: a 5 page narrative: In revenge for blowing up a planet, Captain Ark and her sidekick attack and destroy Commander Skull’s deadly spaceship.

Text Summary: key vocabulary, structure, featured language, punctuation and grammar

Activity Suggestions: recommended tasks for context, pre-reading, reading and writing

Reading Task: Identify the screen shots used in the narrative; arrange them into the Opening, Build Up, Events and Resolution.

Writing Tasks: Examine the DOBER plans (Dilemma - Opening - Build-up - Events - Resolution) for Mission Excindo and Operation Rescue. Select some screen shots to plan and write a science-fiction narrative.
