This lesson starts by factors which make things hard to stop, before exploring the momentum equation and working through some examples. It then introduces conservation of momentum by looking at a stationary skateboarder jumping off a skateboard, with the skateboarder moving forward and the skateboard moving backwards. The students then complete a group task, solving a complicated conservation of momentum question, before attempting differentiated questions on momentum. The lesson then looks at impulse and its practical applications, before ending with a plenary covering all aspects of momentum.
Paper 2 and 4 questions are used throughout this lesson and all questions come with answers or full worked solutions
