
Students will:
- Explain in their own words the meaning of the phrase “we have more in common than that which divides us.”
- Analyse why recognising common ground matters for individuals, schools and wider society.
- Describe and evaluate ways people from different backgrounds can come together.
- Relate the phrase to current social issues and begin to critically examine its role in society today.
Materials:
- Exercise books or lined paper
- Projector/whiteboard
- (Optional) Device to photograph students’ work to share with the Jo Cox Foundation
