This download contains a lesson workbook, Powerpoint presentation and mark-scheme.

This lesson begins by exploring the particles the make up the atom, their mass and charge. It then moves on to explore how electrons can be transferred between materials due to friction, resulting in a build up of charge. We then look at how charges interact with each other to cause attraction or repulsion. The last part of the lesson introduces the concept of an electric field, showing students the shape of the field around positive and negative charges.
