How do you answer Q3? This simple, free resource breaks it down and can be used as scaffolding when students are answering a practice question. These tips can also be adapted into your lessons. Students are often confused by structure, so I try and keep it simple:

  • What to include in each paragraph (What, Where, Why - a welcome change from the PEE-based acronyms my students normally have to memorise)
  • Beginning, middle, end - again, nice and simple
  • List of structure techniques for students to refer to while annotating.
