Part VII of a short series of slides for GCSE Physics students, aimed at addressing knowledge gaps from Key Stage 3. Each set of supplementary slides features a short reteach, a check phase and some written questions. They are designed to be inserted into normal lessons and aim to take less than 10 minutes each to complete.

This resource shows students the difference between series and parallel circuits and how to identify which components will be on or off when there are breaks at different points in the circuit. It doesn’t address current and p.d. as this is covered in detail as part of the GCSE course.

Useful for:

  • Any students who could use a recap before starting the section on series and parallel circuits
  • Challenge: Moderate
