Step on Paulet Island. Be confronted with the wildlife. See the reminders of past history in the form of Larsen's Hut. Recognise the volcanic origin of the island. Use the activity sheet provided as an attachment.This is the final unit in the PAULET ISLAND SERIES. It has a focus on the Conservation issues needed to protect the landscape, fauna and cultural features on the island. It can stand alone or be linked with other units such as LANDFORM, LARSEN'S HUT, WILDLIFE. It connects with guidelines for tourism (an increasing issue) which relate to the policies initiated by the Antarctic Treaty of 1959. Students can gather information and then apply them to their own map (BW attachment given) This unit anticipates student debate and conclusions.
