This unit provides resources for those studying Asian History (specifically Cambodia and Vietnam); It provides materials on genocide and can be used as an Asian example alongside the European example of the genocide of the Concentration Camps of Nazi Germany. It also adds material for those studying the role of Marxist/Leninist theories of communism. The study has a focus on the years of control of the Khmer Rouge (Pol Pot) and the revolutionary movement to focus on an agrarian commune system. As Part 3 in the series on Phnom Penh - the Cambodian capital - it explains how that city experienced a loss and recovery of population in the 1975-1979 period.
