Help to close the word gap by arming students with some basic history of the English Language and some key root words, prefixes and suffixes.
This is one of my most used resources over the last 5 years, and I have had some fantastic feedback from pupils for it! Many will proudly tell me when they’ve spotted root words “in the wild” after this lesson, and it is surprising how engaged they can be to discover this new skill in understanding new words and new texts! It’s like a code being cracked: A great feeling!
