Primary Science Lesson Plans (Y1-6)

Lesson plans for Y1-6 Science, which include the best ideas from multiple Science leads, as well as links to (free) Explorify, TAPS Focussed Assessments, Ogden website resources, etc. Each lesson shows the NC substantive knowledge link(s), the enquiry type (where applicable) and the WS skills (according to the PLAN assessment Jan 2025 documents) that you can teach or assess in each lesson.

This document (available both in table and text format) is a curriculum plan that I put together alongside 14 Science leads from a West Midlands Network. The lesson plans cover the whole of the English KS1 and KS2 NC for science, without going into KS3, like so many SoWs do. It also covers all the enquiry types and all the PLAN assessment WS skills appropriate to each year group.
