A group activity , using a simple song and simple props. Excellent for cooperative learning, coordination, all with a nautical theme. The song can be used to introduce new topics from any part of the curriculum i.e. finish the activity by pulling your next group activity from the bottom of the seabed More resources like these can be fond in our resource book The Whole Shabang! This is great. The co-ordination needed for the children to ungrip with one hand, while they grip with the other and pass the rope along, is a very sophisticated brain-hand co-ordination feat. As they practice this with all the fun repetition, rhythm and team work, they willbe building neural pathways which will help them in allof the rest of the things they learn to do, The repetition of the language and actions, UP and DOWN is very helpful too. Thank you for sharing this.

LOVE it! what a fab idea to link activities by singing this song and 'pulling up' the next activity to focus on.
