This resource is targeted at all students encountering Pythagoras’ Theorem for the first time.
Students start by identifying the hypotenuse of right-angled triangles. An example finding the length of hypotenuse is given. Students are asked to do another example and then an exercise.
Students are shown how to give non-integer answers either as a decimal or as a surd. Students complete another exercise.
Students are then showed how to find a shorter length in right-angled triangles and complete a further exercise.
There is a final exercise where students have to find a mix of hypotenuse and shorter lengths.
