Rainforest Food Web Game

This is a ppt file with photos of rainforest species and a model food web.

I use this with students and give each other them a large photo. They are then this species. They have to move around the classroom and look at the other species and see what they would eat and what would eat them. I then give them a ball of string and ask them to start with the producers and pass the string to what would eat them. You can start with simple food chains and build up to more complicated food webs. You can cut the string at the start and end of each food chain. You can also cut the link to model when a species goes extinct and model what will happen to interlinking species.

The smaller photos can be used for each student to then build a food web in their books.
