Activities to support all areas of the curriculum from early years to year 6. The activities can be used stand alone or as part of an introduction or plenary session. Each activity has teacher guidance notes attached.
Three sets of reading comprehension questions for Year 3 or 4, which I created to tie in with our pond life topic. All three comprehensions contain questions in similar formats to national reading tests, and each one relates to a page of text within this free pack, which is available online (https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/pdf/pond_pack_2010.pdf).
Part 1 - Questions about invertebrates [p9 of the pond pack]
Part 2 - Questions about invertebrates (cont.) [p10 of the pond pack]
Part 3 - Questions about amphibians [p11 of the pond pack]
Powerpoint showing several photos of Roman shields that I made leading into an activity where children design their own Roman shield based on certain criteria.
The children went on to design their own Roman Shields and then made then with cardboard and painted them.
Perfect for giving them ideas!
I couldn't find any materials on this when I needed to teach my year 3 class what the equals sign REALLY meant.
I have included the lesson plan I used, the 3 differentiated worksheets and a Powerpoint I made.
Also have included a homework set of resource sheets (could alternatively be used in class as a reinforcement at a later date.)
UPDATE: Have added a more challenging resource for year 3/4
Set of resources used in the year 4 topic of creating images with poetry, similes and metaphors.
A great idea is for the children to describe a beach using similes and metaphors.
Includes homework ideas, display material and many worksheets around the topic! Enjoy!
Due to the popularity of this resource I have included a Powerpoint I used for a very successful observation lesson by Ofsted.
Also a bank of poems that I developed using Similes and Metaphors in them to create images and a few more resources too including a soothing soundtrack and background to play on your IW on loop. I have recently added even more poems and simile / metaphor references for this resource!
AUGUST UPDATE: Even more resources added and price reduction to celebrate over 100 downloads of this resource.
Worksheets suitable for 7-9 year olds a lot of them with 3 differentiated abilities.
I have now included a large number of other word problems in this resource suitable for year 3/4 and could obviously be adapted for other year groups.
Intended to be printed and laminated for a wall display on literary devices. Uses examples from a lot of modern films (lots of Harry Potter!) to make explanations clear and relevant to pupils.
I hope it comes in handy.
A Full scheme of work covering writing objectives using various of Roald Dahl's works (including Matilda and The BFG). It is easy to differentiate for KS 2 (7-11 year olds) and KS3 (11-14 year olds)and contains many worksheets for activities including vocabulary and punctuation use as well as descriptive and creative writing techniques.
Children loved making pizzas at our Italian pizza class. Resources have been exported from an Activ-primary flip-chart. (Which also includes Italian Pizzeria style music.) Fun to play when the children are making their pizzas or working. If you would like original please message me.

These ‘Library Challenge’ cards were made for my class library, but they could be used in a school library as well. The idea was just to get the children excited about reading and properly engaged with the books, and they’ve really enjoyed working through the activities – an added bonus being that I use this work to decorate the walls of our library.
There’s a selection of 10 Library Challenge Cards, plus a ‘Library Challenge of the Week’ which just allows for changing things up a little without having to print and laminate more cards.
