I used this in my classroom to display which area of reading the class or individual groups were focussing on both in guided reading and individual reading...I have found that expecting children to apply skills from guided reading that week/month within their individual reading helped boost their attainment. I could also make miniature versions and stick in as targets or base my comments on hearing each child read each week, with the same focus. This also aided reading attainment as parents began focussing on addressing any comments in the feedback I gave. it also gave parents a clear view of what reading with their child looks like in greater depth rather than just reading each word. I preferred this to bookmarks as parents tended to stick to the same focus each time,
