Pupils receive a challenge to participate in the community celebrations for HM The King and HM The Queen Consort’s Coronation. In preparation, pupils work in groups to identify the special features of community gatherings across the UK. The class draws on their learning to design a new community celebration for the Coronation. They devise additional features to enhance their event, such as special costumes, food or music and dance. These activities and resources have been devised to promote an inclusive and multi-cultural approach to learning across the curriculum and can be easily adapted. A fact file about HM King Charles III is included to support learning about history, the monarchy and the significance of the Coronation.
