Positive Friendships - Year 2 - KS1 PSHE
Our spiral curriculum builds progressively year on year, culminating in this Year 2 unit on Positive Friendships. Pupils first encountered this topic in Reception when we read Duck and Penguin Are Not Friends by Julia Woolf. In this unit, we will explore this topic in greater detail. We will learn about making friends, the qualities we might look for in a friend, as well as the importance of sharing, listening and making up after any disagreements. This topic is intended as a foundation for understanding positive friendships, which will be developed in greater depth in later years.
This free planning bundle includes a detailed scheme of work, a long-term plan showing our entire curriculum at a glance, a Year 2 roadmap illustrating the progressive design across the year, and a comprehensive knowledge organiser highlighting key vocabulary and summarising the progression of skills and knowledge. It also provides British Values mapping and optional pre- and post-assessments. Explore the detailed content of each lesson by clicking the links below.
