A Safer Internet Day paired card sort for KS2 from Tykeoons. Explores the financial side of online safety through 8 real-world digital scenarios.
Most Safer Internet Day activities focus on cyberbullying and stranger danger. This one takes a different angle: the financial risks of being online. Pupils work in pairs to sort 8 illustrated scenario cards (covering loot boxes, countdown scam ads, in-app subscriptions, targeted advertising and unsolicited DMs) into three categories: SAFE, DANGER and ASK AN ADULT. Several scenarios are deliberately ambiguous, making this as much a discussion activity as a sorting one.
Suitable for PSHE, financial education, online safety and computing. Works well as a standalone activity on Safer Internet Day or as a starter for a broader lesson on digital financial awareness.
